2014 Preseason All-American Team
Prime Time College Football's 2014 Preseason All-American Teams have been released (see below).
Quarterback: Surprisingly, Marcus Mariota is named to the 1st Team, while Jameis Winston is named to the 2nd Team. Mariota's game-changing ability beat Winston's all-around skillset that is complemented by a very talented supporting cast.
Running Back: The two best running backs in the country by consensus are Todd Gurley (Georgia) and Melvin Gordon (Wisconsin). Naturally, we followed suit, although Nebraska's Ameer Abdullah certainly contended for a 1st Team position.
Wide Receiver: Very few teams in college football nowadays use only two wide receivers. Consequently, Prime Time College Football names three wide receivers on both the 1st Team and 2nd Team. The best in the country this year are Amari Cooper (Alabama), Laquon Treadwell (Ole Miss), and Nelson Agholor (USC). All three wideouts should be first round draft choices when they enter the NFL Draft in the future.

LSU's La'el Collins is a mountain of a man and should provide excellent run blocking for LSU's stable of running backs in 2014.
Offensive Guard: Vadal Alexander (LSU) will team with Collins to form the best two man combination on an offensive line in the country. Florida State's Tre' Jackson will have another great season and should see his name appear on the postseason 1st All-American team as well.
Center: Hroniss Grasu (Oregon) is nearly the unanimous choice for every preseason 1st Team All-American team that's been published out there. We follow suit.
Defensive End: Vic Beasley (Clemson), Leonard Williams (USC), and Randy Gregory (Nebraska) anchor three excellent defensive lines this season. Beasley should be a terror for opposing offensive lineman once again this season, and Williams should provide solid run-stuffing and pass rushing for the Trojans in LA. Gregory burst onto the scene last season and gave Big Ten coaches a reason to scratch their heads as they prepared for the dominant Husker.

Cornerback: Vernon Hargreaves III (Florida) surprised the SEC in 2013, but he won't be so successful accomplishing that this year. Every SEC team will know about Hargreaves III and will be forced to game plan around his excellent instincts and play-making abilities. Ifo Ekpre-Olomu would have been a first round draft choice had he entered the 2014 NFL Draft. His chances to be a first round selection in 2015, however, should be solidified after what many analysts predict will be a great season for Olomu in Eugene.
Safety: Alabama's Landon Collins played in the shadow of Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, the first round draft choice of the Green Bay Packers in the 2014 NFL Draft, last season. This season, Collins will be the best player in the Crimson Tide secondary and he'll be expected to make plays for one of Saban's most talented defenses. Cody Prewitt (Ole Miss) joins Collins on the 1st Team and he should be a solid defender in the Rebels defensive backfield.
